Short book update

Just a quick update on the book. As with all things literary, this book has taken on a life of its own, and Mark and I missed our self-set date of end Feb to have the book with Pearsons for final review and publishing. But the good news is that we're close to having a draft copy up on Safari - i.e. we're shooting to have the book up on Safari in the next two weeks. I'll post the link as soon as I have it.

Any update on this book Humphrey?

Hi all

I uploaded the book chapters to the Pearson ftp server this evening. Apart from chapter six (security) undergoing a SME review first, the other chapters should be going up on Safari Rough Cuts in the next few days.

Now we're going to start on the items that we know need to be completed - beefing up the sample questions section in each chapter and also doing the artwork for each chapter.

HI Humphrey,

I have recently purchased your SCEA book, pdf version.
I realized that there is not much practice exam at each of the chapters.
And the book itself is looking very less in content compared to other auther's publications.

>Am i going to get more content at each of the chapters in fure?(I know its not a JAVA bigenner's guide though).
>Do you have any idea to provide, practice tests separate for partI and partII?

Please take my comments/questions positive, and sorry if i am bit harsh.

Kind Regards,
Raja.

Hello, with respect to SCEA,
could you tell me: (1) how much marks can be deducted for so-called fragmentation? (2) is it necessary to provide M2/3 level diagrams to show the extension of basic/core profile to EJB 3.x, etc.?

I will be obliged if you find time to clarify these.

Hi

wrt fragmentation, the more required information you delete (whether it be intentionally or unintentionally), the more marks will be deducted. In general, I would look to ensure that the relationships and cardinality information supplied in the domain model pulls through to your class diagram.
